Dear WORLD MEMORIAL,
II would have photos of all of the victims faces from before 9/11. I would shuffle them randomly, so firemen are next to stock traders, movie directors
next to janitors, black, white, Asian and Hispanic and all folks who died are all randomly placed. I would have four walls of red marble or granite, in a square, with room to walk between, and would engrave all of
the victims faces into the rock full size or 3/4 full size. When you walk into this large square, all of the people who died would be there for you to see the enormity of the tragedy and how it reflected a cross
section of America. These faces do represent this country, and so more pointed is their annihilation by terror. the back of the wall, directly opposite each face, would be their name and birthday engraved into the
wall. Possibly on each face, near the neck, would be their first name or nickname. A possibility. The red stone would symbolize the flame and explosions that took their lives, as well as their blood spilled. It
would also symbolize the aviation fuel and hydraulic fluid that caused the fall of the towers.
The attached sketch is not perfect, but is meant only as a representation of what I have in mind. I could
not find the right stone on my computer nor could I draw faces exactly as they would be if cut in stone.
