Air Dart

Dear WORLD MEMORIAL,

A giant stainless steel dart exactly the same length as the B-767 with the name (or hand prints) of each victim engraved on the side would present all 3,000+ names.

The other sculpture application of the dart, is to build a giant version of the fibre-optic lamps that were popular a few years ago. Like a whole round bush of stalks with the ends glowing - except now a small perspex dart would be at each end and would glow in a darkened room. Alternatively, a darkened room (which adds to the tone like a cathedral) could have these perspex darts suspended from the ceiling at the end of a fiber optic thread, and the effect when you walked in would be a sea of glowing darts of varying sizes (according to the age of the victims) - a real "Flight of Angels".

One final idea is to have plaques of each victim (and these could be hand prints in a bronze plaque) scribe the perimeter of a Boeing, set in the grass. The idea is to give visitors and idea of the scale of the aircraft that hit the towers, in a way that is subtle and not painful.

regards,

Lee Johnson,
